Why Michelle and Barack Obama don't have a son

This time, she has opened up about their experience raising daughters, and why she is completely okay with not having had a son.

Speaking on the latest episode of her In My Opinion podcast, which she co-hosts with her brother Craig Robinson, Michelle welcomed radio legend Angie Martinez for a candid discussion about the challenges of raising young black men in America.

During the conversation, Angie playfully suggested that Michelle and Barack should have also had a son.

Michelle and Barack are parents to Sasha and Malia, who are now both in their twenties, and who she recently revealed she struggled to parent.

However, Michelle did not hesitate to fire back with her usual wit and brutal honesty.

“I’m so glad I did not have a boy. Because he would have been a Barack Obama,” she said with a laugh.

While Angie mused that it might have been nice for Barack to have a son, Michelle quickly shut that down.

“No, I would've felt for him,” she added, hinting at the weight and pressure of growing up under the shadow of such a globally admired man.

Craig jumped in revealing that Michelle has been a mother figure to his own sons, treating them like her own.

Michelle echoed that sentiment, joking that she already has plenty of sons, just not biological ones.

"Woman and mothers will understand exactly what she means. And it has nothing to do with hate. Quite the opposite."

"Don’t take this out of context folk. Don’t buy into the narrative that the media wants to sell. I have a son who is now the 3rd in the lineage, and now grandson who is a 4th. Living up to the greatness associated with his name is a blessing and a curse. He now owns all of the space he occupies, but it was tough growing up for him in moments. The expectations of the sideline folk telling him he had to do & be this that and the third, was overwhelming at times. He knows who he is in his own right today for sure, but the covering and protection by me a a few others to let him be his authentic self and discover his own gifts, wants, dreams was necessary."

"I’m 33 years old and I’ve never seen 1 Pregnancy Picture of Michelle Obama."
