Is Michelle Obama still grieving her mother?
In a heartfelt post on social media, Michelle shared treasured photos capturing moments with her late mum, who passed away at the age of 86.
The touching tribute offered a glimpse into their close bond and the lasting impact Robinson had on her daughter's life.
Michelle described the complex nature of grief and how, despite the absence, her mother’s presence continues to echo in her everyday life.
“We lost my mother a year ago, but somehow, it almost feels like she’s with us more and more each day. I notice it in the way I channel her when I’m giving advice to my daughters, or catching up with my brother Craig, or sitting down for dinner with Barack. She’s not with us, but she is," she wrote.
Michelle revealed that grieving has not been an easy process for her, admitting that some days still bring waves of pain.
“Some days, the loss hits you like a wave, again and again. Some days, I’m buoyed by the strength she fostered in me. And most days, I’m just thankful to have had the chance to learn from her at all," she continued.
Her message also served as a source of comfort for others navigating loss.
Additionally, she encouraged those grieving to remember the love and lessons from their loved ones.
“You’re enough. And I’ll add a little bit of my own flavor, too. You’re enough because of the people who have poured so much love and wisdom into you. And even in their absence, their light emanates through you," she explained.
During Obama's tenure in office, Robinson lived with them in the White House.

Are Michelle and Barack divorcing?
Previously, Michelle addressed rumours suggesting a rift between her and her husband, Barack.
She admitted that some of her recent personal choices, particularly her decision to embrace more independence, may have fuelled the speculation that they are headed for divorce.
