David Portnoy, a well-known American entrepreneur and online personality, has acknowledged that his ex-wife, Renee, still has access to his bank account.

Why does David Portnoy's ex have access to his account?
The couple tied the knot in 2009 but parted ways in 2017.
Portnoy launched Barstool Sports in 2003, transforming it from a local Boston publication into a nationally recognised media brand.
He later sold stakes in the business to Penn Entertainment through two key deals before buying it back entirely in August 2023.
During an appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast, host Shannon Sharpe asked Portnoy if it was true that his ex still had access to his finances.
Portnoy quickly confirmed, leaving Sharpe momentarily speechless.
Portnoy explained that his trust in Renee is unwavering. He recounted how she stood by him in the early days, including when they lived with his in-laws and couldn’t even afford a hamburger.
“She was with me through the toughest times,” he said, emphasising that their separation came just as his success began and she never got to share in the rewards.
He emphasised his strong belief in loyalty and added that Renee is currently in a new relationship, which he fully supports.
“I just want her to be happy,” he said.
Sharpe then asked how he would feel if Renee spent $ 500,000 (around KSh 65 million) from the account on a wedding.
Portnoy replied that he would be fine with it, reaffirming that they remain close.
“She’s still my best friend. She was there at the start of everything. If she called me now, I’d be there,” he said.
