Was Tory Lanez accused wrongly of shooting Megan?

Lanez’s legal team has presented what they claim to be new evidence suggesting that he did not fire the weapon that injured Megan Thee Stallion.

This revelation comes as Lanez recovers in a hospital after being stabbed multiple times while in prison.

During a press conference, Lanez’s legal team alleged that prosecutors manipulated evidence during his trial and that Lanez "never shot anybody".

They mentioned a testimony from a man named Bradley James, who is said to have overheard a conversation in which Kelsey Harris, an ex-friend of Megan, admitted to firing the gun.

Lanez is said to have tried to stop her from shooting after she had fired three times during the scuffle, and two more shots were fired.

Harris is believed to have been in the vehicle with Lanez and Megan on the night of the incident.

Lanez's team said the irregularity was just one of many inconsistencies in the case, and their client did not shoot anyone.

The claims by James are said to align with testimony from the only witness in the case, Sean Kelly, who testified that he saw two women fighting and two men intervening to break up the fight.

One man grabbed the gun in one of the woman's arm, sitting on the passenger side, the same side Harris was seated.

Lanez is serving a 10-year sentence after he was found guilty of assault with a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm and negligent discharge of a gun.

Tory Lanez's dad on his son's condition

Lanez’s father, Sunstar Peterson, has been vocal about his son’s condition following the stabbing.

According to The BBC, Lanez suffered 14 stab wounds, including injuries to his back, torso, and head, leading to collapsed lungs.

Despite the severity of his injuries, he is said to be recovering well.

In light of these events, Lanez’s legal team has called on California governor Gavin Newsom to grant him a pardon or commute his sentence.

They argue that Lanez was denied a fair trial and that his continued incarceration poses a serious risk to his safety.

A petition has also been launched to rally public support for his release.
