The message was written just three days before his death. He celebrated her birthday.

President William Ruto mourned the passing of Lungu, saying that he was a progressive and outstanding leader.
"Our condolences to the family and the people of Zambia for the untimely death of Former president Edgar Lungu. He was a progressive and outstanding leader who served the people of Zambia with zeal and commitment," he shared.
He asked the Almighty to grant the people of Zambia strength during the painful time.
"May God grant the people of Zambia strength and comfort during this painful time. Rest In Peace," he added.
