His former Brentford coach, Thomas Frank, was confirmed as Tottenham's new coach on Thursday, June 12, and now he's been linked with the North London club.

Sky Sports have reported that Spurs have held discussions with Brentford over a possible deal for the Cameroonian.

The winger later shared a post on his Instagram story, thanking Frank from Brentford, accompanied by a folded hands emoji.

Now, Man United fans are expressing concerns that they might miss out on Mbeumo, who may prefer reuniting with his former coach.

The Red Devils have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves, and Mbeumo is on their list of targets.

The forward was included in many Team of the Season lists after his 20-goal season in the Premier League.

What did Man United say about Mbeumo's Tottenham links?

@FPL__Raptor:

"This will be one of the biggest fumbles in recent history if we don’t manage to get this done. I’ll be beyond gutted. He’s exactly what we need, pay up and get it done."

@BrianofNazffs:

"If any player chooses Spurs over Man Utd then I wouldn’t want them. They’re obviously unwell and lack big time mentality…"

@OkayAnkush:

"Here we fumble 💣."

@SibsMUFC

"I think this is Brentford telling us to get a move on and pay up if we want Mbuemo. Which they’re fully entitled to do. The longer this drags on, the greater the risk he can be persuaded to change his mind. Remember nothing is confirmed until a contract is signed."

@OzzyMoore93:

You know it’s dark days when Spurs are more appealing than United 😬."

@utdrobbo

"Mbeumo wanted to leave Frank's Brentford to join United & rejected Spurs in the process but now he wants to join Spurs because... Frank has taken over? This is Brentford trying to push the deal on. Can we stop falling for everything?"

With two months left in the transfer window, it remains to be seen where Mbeumo will land.

Onana is now back in Cameroon, where he was spotted socialising freely with the residents as they played football in the streets.

The goalkeeper's career has taken a hit at Old Trafford, and some fans have called for him to be sold.
