Man United lost in Asia
Man United's brief pre-season in Asia began with a shock 1-0 loss to ASEAN All-Stars in front of a packed Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
The Red Devils produced an underwhelming performance in sweltering conditions, and their wait for successive wins continues.
Ruben Amorim used 27 players, with Altay Bayindir the only one who didn't play. Alejandro Garnacho played the entire second half, while captain Bruno Fernandes came on in the second half.
Maung Maung Lwin scored the only goal of the friendly in the 71st minute. The Premier League giants will face Hong Kong on Friday, May 30.
"I feel always guilty of the performance of the team since I am here in the first game. The boos from the fans, maybe it is something we need because every game that we lost in the Premier League they were always there. Let's see for next season," Amorim said after the defeat per journalist Laurie Whitwell.
The Red Devils are coming off a poor season where they finished 15th in the Premier League and lost the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur.
