Will Matheus Cunha take Rashford's number?

According to Talksport, Cunha will sign a five-year deal with Man United and wear the No.10 jersey, which currently belongs to Marcus Rashford.

BBC Sport reported that the deal is close and will likely cost the Premier League giants £62.5 million (approximately KSh 11 billion). Wolves are yet to receive a formal approach from Ruben Amorim's team.

Talksport adds that with Rashford's future at Man United up in the air, his jersey number will likely be taken by the Brazilian if he joins the club.

Cunha has scored 33 goals in 92 appearances for Wolves, including 15 in the just-concluded Premier League campaign.

Man United's no.10 jersey has been worn by some of the club's iconic players such as Wayne Rooney, David Beckham, Roy Keane and Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Cunha hinted at his exit after Wolves' final game of the season against Brentford.

"Individually it was the best season of my life. All of this was only possible because of all the dedication and love I have for this club, he said on Instagram. "I became the Brazilian with the most goals in a Premier League season along with Roberto Firmino and Gabriel Martinelli.
"I made mistakes and got things right, but always because I lived this club so much. All I ever wanted was to do the impossible for Wolves. Another one is over. And thank you for all the affection."

Which other Man United players are leaving?

Man United will be busy in the summer transfer window. Christian Eriksen and Johny Evans will leave the club, but they need many arrivals to bolster their squad after their worst Premier League season.

Cunha is expected to be the first signing, but the club will still face strict financial regulations. As a result, they need to sell players before making new purchases.

For example, Antony, Rashford, and Alejandro Garnacho are likely to leave in the coming months.

The club finished 15th on the table and painfully lost the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur. Man United boss Amorim promised fans a better future.

"After this disastrous season, I want to tell you the good days are coming. If there is one club in the world that proves in the past that it can overcome any situation, any disaster, it’s our club."

Amorim tells Garnacho to leave

Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported that Amorim told Garnacho to find a new club during a team meeting.

This comes after the winger appeared to criticise the Portuguese coach for playing him briefly in the Europa League final.

The Argentine has been criticised this season for his underwhelming performances, but has admirers across Europe.
