Will Agnes Kagure contest the Nairobi governorship in 2027?
The empowerment activist is among the city politicians who have set their sights on unseating the current governor, Johnson Sakaja, in the upcoming election.
In a post on her social media platforms on Thursday, May 29, Kagure reflected on her 2022 bid, where she ran as an independent after being denied a nomination ticket by the Jubilee Party.
This time, armed with fresh insights and unwavering resolve, Kagure said she is determined not to leave anything to chance.
According to the businesswoman, she is ready to offer alternative leadership that Nairobians have been yearning for.
"TBT, just before my former party pulled a last-minute trick that left Nairobi disillusioned. We learn from the past, and this time, we are leaving nothing to chance in our quest to provide alternative leadership. Mbele iko Sawa," Kagure said.

Who is Agnes Kagure?
A familiar name in Kenyan politics and social activism, Kagure is also a businesswoman deeply committed to community empowerment, especially championing youth and women’s causes.
In the 2022 elections, she finished fourth behind Sakaja, Polycarp Igathe, and Harman Grewal.
Known for her strong stance on good governance and transparency, Kagure passionately calls for Nairobi to be led by someone who truly understands and represents its diverse communities.
Speaking exclusively to TUKO.co.ke, Kagure disclosed that her leadership will centre on efficiency in service delivery to the people.
According to the businesswoman, who runs the Agnes Kagure Foundation, her government will focus on streamlining revenue collection, cleanliness, and empowerment programmes for the youth and women.
"I have a clear vision for Nairobi county, and I have always said leadership is about listening to the people. There are a lot of things going wrong; for instance, the county is still dirty, and the revenue collection systems remain unresolved. We shall be targeting the youths and women through purposeful empowerment programmes," she stated.
Will Johnson Sakaja win in 2027 election?
Earlier, Sakaja dismissed allegations from his political rivals that he will serve only one term as governor.
Speaking on Citizen TV on Wednesday, December 18, he confidently stated that he will be re-elected in the 2027 General Election.
Although there has been speculation about his future in 2027, the UDA governor assured that many voters in Nairobi have expressed strong support for him.
Sakaja, who is optimistic about securing a second term, also highlighted that he has already fulfilled many of his 2022 campaign promises, including the construction of stadiums across the county.
