In a strongly worded tweet on Sunday, May 25, Kuria claimed the former DP was using coercive tactics to intimidate leaders from the Mt Kenya region.

Is Rigathi Gachagua a dictator?

The former Trade Cabinet secretary criticised what he called Gachagua’s fixation on control, accusing the former deputy president of using his newly launched Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) to coerce leaders and voters in the region into submission.

In a code message, Kuria claimed the former Mathira lawmaker has been intimidating Murang'a governor Irungu Kang'ata to join his camp.

"The Making of a Dictator. Governor Irungu Kangata, no matter how hard you work for Murang'a people, as long as you do not follow me, you will be a one-term governor," Kuria said.

According to Kuria, Gachagua wants his newly launched DCP party to be the main political actor in the populous Mt. Kenya region ahead of the 2027 General Election.

"I will personally interview all candidates seeking District Commissioners Party tickets to kick out uneducated ones. All parties in Mt Kenya, except District Commissioners Party are sellouts and should be rejected. All leaders in Mt Kenya, except those following me everywhere, are brainless," the former Trade CS stated in reference to Gachagua.

Kuria cheekily suggested that Gachagua could soon start threatening women whose name is not Dorcas, that they will not go to heaven.

"All Musicians from Mt Kenya do not sing my praise song,s are tukunias and tugeges. Do not listen to their music. Do not invite them to shows. Boycott all entertainment joints that invite them. Unfollow them on Social Media. What next ....All women whose first name is not Dorcas are sell-outs and will not go to heaven," Kuria said sarcastically.

How did Kithure Kindiki respond to Gachagua?

Elsewhere, Kindiki strongly rebutted comments made by his predecessor, who had accused Kikuyu musicians of betrayal following their courtesy visit to him.

Speaking to traders at the Economic Empowerment Programme for Small Scale Traders SACCOs in Kabete on Sunday, May 26, Kindiki dismissed Gachagua’s threats, making it clear he would not tolerate any form of intimidation.

The second in command also criticised the former Mathira MP for his arrogance, condemning his attempts to lecture leaders, musicians, and the public.
