The young lady, identified as Jennifer, tearfully narrated how a long-standing land dispute between her boyfriend and childhood friend culminated in his death.

In the lengthy TikTok video, Jennifer said that her boyfriend had fallen out with the friend over the land dispute, but on the fateful day, the pal reached out to her lover, asking for a meet-up.

"I did not feel good about it and instantly told him not to go. I had had a nightmare that things were not okay, but he insisted on going," she said, adding that he left their house at 11pm to go meet him.

Sadly, that is the last time she saw him alive.

"They shot my man three times. Those who found him delayed in taking him to the hospital since he was still alive but struggling to stay conscious. They wanted to inform the police. They took his phone and called his sister first," she said as her tears punctuated her speech.
She (boyfriend's sister) called me an hour later and told me what had happened. This is too much for me. I have exams in two weeks, and I do not know how to read for them because mentally, I am not okay," she cried out.

Late boyfriend's last messages

She said that after his parents facilitated his transfer to another hospital, he received treatment for a few hours during which he went in and out of consciousness.

"When he regained consciousness one last time, he sent me a WhatsApp message. His sister told me that he asked her to go into his phone and send me what I would later come to find out is a goodbye message," she said while breaking down.

In the message, the boyfriend promised to always love Jennifer, no matter what.

"Everything will be fine, my queen. I will always love you. Be strong for me and our princess. Tell her I love her, too. Take care," the message read.

His sister told Jenniffer that the young man died five minutes after sending that message.

Netizens console grieving girlfriend

Netizens were moved by the lady's story, and many trooped to their comment section to console her.

Many were more heartbroken to learn that she lost her lover as she was still grieving the deaths of her dad and her ex, all of whom died in quick succession.

Others advised listening to partners, as they more often than not always have the best intentions aimed at protecting one from harm.

Here are some of the comments:

Fanta said:

"Now see the importance of having access to your partner's phone...where will the evidence come from if she didn't have access to his phone?"

Glambyomar said:

"My ex won’t listen and he thinks I'm the one who’s bad for telling him not to settle with the same friends who poisoned him. He broke up with me, and his friends laughed at me. Now the same boy is hospitalised for being poisoned again,"

Ada Favour🖤

"I promise you'll be fine. I just went through your page, and now I'm tearing up. I can't even imagine how you feel rn, but trust me, God is in control."

Lady shares boyfriend's last messages

In another story, a lady shared her boyfriend's last messages to her before he died shortly after an illness.

Though she tried to encourage him to hang in there, sadly, he lost all hope when his condition deteriorated.

The man gave the young lady instructions, telling her to pick up his SIM card from a friend if he were no more.
