A Kenyan high school teacher on teaching practice has shared a letter written by one of her students online, leaving many social media users stunned.

In a TikTok post, the teacher, whose username is Moh, expressed her disbelief after receiving the heartfelt note from a student named Kelly.
“You gave teaching practice a chance. They don’t want to graduate,” she captioned the image, adding laughing and crying emojis.

In the letter, Kelly expressed how he felt about his teacher, appreciating her smile and how she conducted herself in school.

However, he asked her to keep the letter a secret between just the two of them.
“Hi, please let this be between you and me. We’ve talked a little, but there’s something private I want to tell you. You are so beautiful, lovely, and also friendly. I love your smile,” he wrote.
He went on to show his creativity in expressing himself in depth to the lovely teacher.
“I know you are not a cobbler, but you have touched my soul madam,” he added.

Netizens share hilarious reactions to the letter
While many found the letter funny and harmless, others lightly criticised the teacher for posting it publicly and exposing the student who sought privacy.
Others validated the boy's feelings, saying it was normal for a teenage boy to admire a young and beautiful teacher.
Many suggested that the boy should undergo guidance and counselling which, without judgement and villification, can help the boy understand and regulate his admiration for his children.

What a teacher should do if student expresses interest
If a high school teacher is told by a male student that he loves her, she must handle the situation with professionalism, sensitivity, and strict adherence to ethical and legal boundaries.
UNESCO’s International Code of Conduct for Teachers states that teachers should never encourage or reciprocate any romantic feelings with their students.
The teacher should respond wisely after a student expresses such feelings. Firmly, she or he should respond calmly romantic relationship between a student and teacher is not appropriate.
The Teacher Service Commission also sternly warns teachers against any relations with learners.
"A teacher shall not engage in any sexual activity whatsoever with a learner, with learners. regardless of whether the learner consents. Make a request to, or exert pressure on a learner for sexual activity or favour; or flirt with a learner," the code of conduct states in part.
Love-smitten teacher pens letter to deputy county commissioner
