A video showing the last moments on earth for Victor Otieno, a Thika-based college student, broke hearts after going viral.

At only 24, Otieno was among Kenyans who sadly died during the nationwide Gen-Z-led protests that took place on June 25, 2025.
In the viral clip, Victor was jovial and energetic; he was clad in a purple jersey, baseball cap, as well as a face mask and engaged in chants with fellow protesters along Thika Road.
A family member who received news of the Thika student's death took to Facebook to pen a heartbreaking post.

2. Nakuru man marries 2nd wife to teach 1st wife a lesson, ends up in jail
David Njoroge Chege, who hails from Nakuru, married a second wife to spite his older, first wife amid marital conflicts, but things did not go as expected.
Njoroge and his new wife argued regularly, including over the ownership of his bicycle and goats, which she falsely reported as stolen.
She reported Njoroge to the chief and police, which caused a string of legal troubles he claimed were based on falsehoods.

His eulogy became a powerful symbol of the courage, grief, as well as the unwavering demand for justice that the young generation harbours.
The young man shared his eulogy a day before the planned Gen Z demonstrations to honour the ones who died in 2024.

4. Kenyan dad panics as daughter sends him farewell message, WhatsApp chat leaks
A young woman left her father in panic after she texted him a cryptic message ahead of the June 25 protests.
Upon receiving the unsettling message from the Gen-Z lady, the worried dad attempted to call her, but she didn’t answer. In a follow-up post, she shared that her father eventually reached her and scolded her for the alarming message.
This came as many Gen Zs sent farewell messages to their families before attending the protests.

5. Nakuru mum puzzled as Form 4 girl who killed little daughter confesses why she did it: "spirit"
Young Margaret Wanjiru was murdered during a church service after she went outside to play while her mother remained inside.
On Sunday, June 22, she was discovered outside the church compound; she was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.
According to the surveillance footage from nearby homes and street cameras, a Form 4 girl was seen walking out of the church compound with the child; she then led her to a secluded area and committed the act.
Her family was left bewildered after the Form 4 girl revealed to the authorities the motive behind the cruel murder.
