The dramatic citizen's arrest was captured in a now-viral TikTok video that shows angry residents surrounding the suspects and forcing them to sit on the ground.

How old were the rescued children?

From the video, the suspects attracted attention given that they were two young boys, barely of parenting age.

Members of the community figured that they couldn't have six small babies of nearly the same age.

One voice, clearly audible in the footage, can be heard shouting, "Kaa chini! Kaa chini!" as the accused try to flee the scene.

Their spirited attempts to explain how they ended up with the children were drowned in the crowd's noise.

The rescued children, most of them toddlers under the age of two, looked on in confusion, their small faces mirroring fear and uncertainty amidst the chaos.

"Seeing this while my sister's daughter went missing two weeks ago without a trace. I hope any family grieving the loss of a child, not through death, finds peace and may those children be safe and sound."

"The way these kids are healthy, handsome and beautiful. What is wrong with some people? Mama wa hawa watoto have no peace na mtu mahali ameiba watoto surely."

Mick_Mich:

"When this is happening, the kids should be placed away from all this drama. To avoid traumatising them. You can even hear them crying through all this commotion: you did a great job of rescuing them, now protect their innocence."

Where were the suspects taken?

The suspects were dragged to the Central Police Station, while the babies were taken to a temporary care centre and further identification efforts.

Investigations are underway to determine the identities of the children and whether they were abducted from different locations.

Police have urged any parents with missing children to report to the authorities for assistance with possible reunification.
