How much did Sam's family owe?
Sam died on May 20, despite fighting hard, and people from all walks of life came together to help him fight the serious condition.
After his death, the family was slapped with a KSh 700,000 bill; Social Health Assurance (SHA) paid some of it, and his loved ones also paid a significant amount. At the end of it all, they remained with KSh 270,000, and the Kenyatta University Referral Hospital held onto his body until the full amount was paid.

The family has been going up and down to raise the money, but they hit a brick wall, meaning that the body has been in the mortuary for a month. They turned to social media one more time, and this time, former Murang'a woman rep Sabina Chege heard their cry.
"Thank you Lord 😭, my blessed sister Hon Sabina Wanjiru wa Chege has called me and promised to clear the remaining bill of KSh 270,000 in the morning," said philanthropist Karangu Muraya.
"Thank you Lord, for making a way for my late friend Sam," he added.
