“I was worried and asked why she chose to live with a man when she didn’t even know what kind of work he did. I even felt the man seemed off, but Faith said he does online business, so I had to step back and say it's okay,” stated Jennifer.
The devastated woman, amid tears, pleaded with the Russian man to return baby Maya to them.
“The child is still very young. He has separated her from her mother – she needs her mother,” noted Jennifer.
How was Faith Jerop’s daughter taken away?
The 22-year-old mother shared that she met the man in Diani and fell in love with him. A few months later, she conceived and eventually gave birth to their daughter.
When the child was a few months old, Jerop’s lover told her that his father, who was gravely ill, wanted to meet his granddaughter.
“He said his dad wanted to give Maya blessings and inheritance, as he was about to undergo major surgery and feared he wouldn’t make it out alive – so we travelled to Russia,” she stated.
While in the foreign country, her lover registered their child at a hospital to obtain free medical care and, without Jerop’s knowledge, listed himself as a single parent.

Later on, he brought in a lawyer and told her he had taken full custody of their child, then asked her to leave his house.
Left with nothing and no money, she begged for a return ticket to Kenya, which he eventually provided but he did not allow her to even bid Maya goodbye.
The young woman said she has written to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and even contacted the Russian embassy seeking help but has not received any assistance or response so far.
She also noted that her heart is broken and that she often loses sleep thinking about her baby girl.
She added that her lawyer said they needed roughly KSh 800,000 to begin the legal process, but she has only managed to raise KSh 60,000.
“I have a hole in my heart. I’ve become hopeless. But I will not give up on my baby,” she said.
Is Faith Jerop’s life in danger?

She claimed that the Russian embassy contacted her ex and asked him to submit Jerop’s documents, along with those of baby Maya.
She expressed concern that the man might come after her, as he knows where she lives and even has an extra key to the house.
