"I am packing to go back to the village after a week of contracts and signatures. One of the main reasons I came to Nairobi was to sign a contract worth KSh 800,000, which is not much, I know, but to me, it was. Everything was on track until just two days before signing. Then came the email. We've hit a roadblock, and unfortunately, we won't proceed as planned.

It took me about three hours to process it. Then I replied with all the grace I could muster, 'Thank you. I look forward to working with you in the future,' and honestly, I meant it," he said in a video.

Lessons Dindi learned after losing mega contract

Dindi, a dad of two, said he was still optimistic about the future, even if it was not with the same partnership.

As much as he was hurt, he believed that when one opportunity is lost, there are several others aligning ahead.

"I've learned that some deals fall through, but that doesn't mean the mission fails. I might have lost this one, but I'm not going home empty-handed. I've got other contracts in the bag and more exciting partnerships. I'll share them with you soon. So, no, this wasn't a loss; it was a reminder that even when one door closes, I'm already holding keys to a few others," he added.

Why did Dindi's contract fall through?

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Dindi made a few clarifications concerning the over half a million Kenyan shillings deal that fell through.

"The contract hadn’t been signed yet, although everything was on course. All the necessary documents had been submitted, and a work schedule had been issued. But just two days before I was due to sign and start the job, I received the message you saw in the video (the WhatsApp screenshot). The client changed their plans, and I was unfortunately dropped from the project. As for payments, I hadn’t received anything by that time.
As for how I’m feeling now, I’ve been processing it in stages, almost like grieving. I’ve accepted the situation and made peace with it. I’m now choosing to look ahead with optimism. I’m also deeply grateful to my online community, which has been incredibly supportive through all this," he added.

Oga Obinna opens up on 'losing' millions of Kenyan shilings

Separately, Oga Obinna painfully opened up about not pocketing the millions of Kenyan shillings his YouTube channel was making.

He lamented signing a bad contract that saw him use his other channel before getting his account back.

He advised content creators to seek legal advice to help them with contract situations.
