Tanzanian couple's son disappears after their death
“The incident happened on Thursday night between 6 pm and 7 pm. When I arrived, I found police officers. My sister was lying in bed, my father had cuts on his head and neck, and my mother was covered in blood. They lived with my younger brother, who was nowhere to be found following the crime. We have yet to track him down. His whereabouts remain unknown,” said Abraham Jota, the late couple’s son.
Efforts are underway to locate Jota’s younger sibling—whose name has been withheld for legal reasons—to assist in the investigation into the incident that has shaken the Msaranga community.
Commissioner Maigwa assured the public that a thorough preliminary investigation was underway by intelligence forces to determine the cause of the incident and those responsible.
In a development that raised many questions, the young man, a son of the deceased, allegedly disappeared immediately after the incident.
Eliud Athumani Mshana speaks after murder of Tanzanian couple
Eliud Athumani Mshana, the chairman of the local government of Msufini in Msaranga Ward, stated that the deceased had spent the entire day in their house.
He admitted the perpetrator of the gruesome murder remained unknown, but claimed the couple’s son might have had a hand in it.
“The young man, unfortunately, had mental health problems. He wasn’t known to be quarrelsome, but his disappearance strongly suggests his involvement,” he said.
Mota’s sister insisted that her brother had no issues with anyone—not even his wife—that could warrant such a cruel death.
