Kenyan TikTok Community Mourns Sudden Death of Medic Who Used Humour to Tackle Health Topics
- Dr Jane Njagi was well-known for her humorous approach to tackling sensitive issues such as relationships and health matters in a way that made people look forward to the next post
- TikTokers were, therefore, heartbroken to learn that Jane had sadly died and was going to be buried on May 27, at Lang'ata Cemetery
- A TikToker identified as Linda Shinjenje said she had been religiously following her content and suddenly she disappeared from the platform and that is when she learnt Jane was no more
Nairobi, Kenya: Beloved Dr Jane Njeri Njagi, who used to tackle health issues with humour on social media, has sadly died.

When did Dr Jane Njagi die?
In a Facebook post shared on May 23, Henry Wainaina Ributhu shared that Jane had sadly died.
"She was the beloved daughter of Beth Mwihaki and Lukas Njagi; a devoted mother to Grace Nyambura, sister to Timothy Mwatha, and niece to Ms Mbugua (former Kamuiru teacher)," read a part of the Facebook post.

As soon as the details were out, her family and friends started planning on how to lay her to rest.
"Daily meetings are being held where she resided, just behind Gachie market, opposite Gwa Kamau wa Nguiyi," said Ributhu.
Jane will be laid to rest on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Lang'ata Cemetery, with the service starting at 11am.

Where is Dr Jane Njeri's body?
At the moment, Jane's body is lying at the Chiromo Mortuary, Westlands. Relatives, friends, and other well-wishers will converge at 8:30 am and depart for Lang'ata at 9:30 am.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Linda Shinjenje, who had been following Jane's posts on TikTok, said that the young medic had disappeared from her social platforms for a while and she was concerned.
"I was so shocked to learn that she died; I followed her because she used to handle sensitive health topics on TikTok with a lot of humour," she said.
" I will surely miss her daring and jovil spirit," she added.
A TikToker identified as Sue Mutheu posted a video of her with Kyle Humes' I Would Have Known song.

Doctor Jane's educational TikTok videos
Until her death, Jane had been impacting lives with her educational TikTok content, which covered topics of childbirth, maternal health, family planning and other health topics.
In one of the videos which went viral on the platform, she advised new mums on how to enhance the immunity of their babies.
"With the cold season here, you and your baby need enhanced immunity from the cold. You need adequate Vitamin A and Vitamin D.
The reason people and especially children tend to fall sick during the cold season is because the Vitamin D we get from the sun is insufficient as compared to the sunny seasons," she said.
Death of Kisii doctor pains many
In another story, the death of a brilliant doctor from Kisii, identified as Vincent Bosire, broke the hearts of many people who knew him both online and offline.
Young Bosire was found dead alongside Angela Moraa, who was believed to be his lover, who had landed from the USA.
Among the people who registered their pain is a group from Nyambaria High School’s Class of 2013; they were united in grief, with so many ex-classmates sharing tributes on their social media pages.
Bosire was a top performer in the 2013 KCSE, earning an A of 85 points, which propelled him to be the top student in Nyanza.
