Miriam, explained that she confronted her aunt for disrespecting her mother and the woman did not take it well, which led to their argument.

"You finally became your mum's lawyer and called out that one 'untouchable auntie,' and now she can't stand it. Am I the drama?" she captioned the video.

What caused fallout between Kenyan Tiktoker and her aunt?

In the conversation, Miriam’s aunt dismissed her sentiments, claiming they came from someone who was drunk and needed to learn to respect others.

Miriam responded with a heartfelt message, stating she would not back down in the face of injustice just to make her aunt comfortable or stroke her ego.

"Know me as the one who speaks up, stands tall, and never allows anyone—regardless of age, title, or bitterness—to belittle her. Know me as the one who doesn't play weak to stroke egos. I'm not the one to be quiet when disrespected. And I surely won't clap for people who thrive on drama disguised as wisdom," she told her aunt.

She went on to accuse her aunt of frequently insulting other relatives who had never held her accountable, adding that she would not be one of them.

"And I don’t care if I am your topic for the rest of the year—thrive in that! Never, ever joke with my mother like that," she added.

In a sharp rebuttal, the aunt said she would no longer engage with the TikToker and would only speak to her mother.

"Nilikupanguza mavi wewe. Kwenda! Ni nini hiyo uko nayo sasa—utusi watu? Mko na bitterness sana. I am a star; you can also be a star in your own way—even if it's in getting drunk," said the aunt.

The young woman urged other relatives not to confuse setting boundaries with bitterness, saying she was merely returning the same energy her aunt seemed unable to handle.

Miriam did not reveal what had transpired between her aunt and her mother, but she vowed to keep calling her out whenever she disrespected her mum.

Mimi niliwapigia wote kwa conference call nikawaambia I have taken my mum with me to live with me. I can't tolerate her being mistreated for two centuries within my watch. Enough is enough. Mtu anataka kumuuliza swali, including my dad, apitie kwangu. No one has the right to talk to her.”

Reading this after nimeweka aunt yangu mwingine mahali anafaa kuwa. Hao watu wametuzoea sana. After I was done texting, I told her to share it with her siblings ndiyo wapate kitu ya kunisengenya for the rest of the year. Nilisikia ashaanza kutafuta wadaku wenzake akisema I disrespected her.”
