Where did Father Allois die?
The man of God was sadly shot dead in Kerio Valley, Elgeyo Marakwet county and the news took many by surprise since he was not only a spiritual father, but he also took care of his community diligently.
In a photo shared by Erastus Mwenda on Facebook, the late Father Allois Cheruiyot is seen leaning on a stick and sitting on a large stone. He was wearing a black priestly garb (cassock) , grey trousers, and black shoes.
What did Allois's message say?
Beside him was a small, black suitcase that showed he was planning to stay in the area for some time.
"Otherwise, niko mlimani jumia (other wise Ia, in the hills for jumuiya). A jumuiya is a small meeting where Catholics meet to share the word on weekdays apart from Sunday."
In another photo, he is seen speaking to small children wearing the same clothes and it is one of the photos that showed he was friendly and touched many lives, including those of small children.
Erastus Mwenda, who shared his photo, said that he was devastated by the death.
"Dear Kerio valley, we gave you a priest armed only with a rosary, bible, sacrament, holy water and a passion to serve. To serve far away, to reach the most vulnerable. To show up daily to preach even to one soul, to be a voice of hope," said Mwenda.
"You sent him back lifeless with bullet wounds and a stained rosary. Why?" he added.

What dismayed staunch Catholics?
When TUKO.co.ke reached out to him, Mwenda acknowledged that he is a staunch Catholic and that the death of the Father had really hurt him.
"It's so painful killing somebody who was unarmed and he was just on a mission to look for the Lord's lost sheep," he said.
"Let's hope the blood they shed will bring the end to the Elgeyo Marakwet banditary," he added.
Kenyans react to the story:
Esther Esther Theuri:
"Hail Mary full of Grace the Lord is with you, blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus, Hail Mary mother of God, pray for us sinners now and the hour of our death, Amen.š Lord remember all our priests."
Eunice Nyambu:
"Na juu hii picha ni ya kupigwa na mtu mwenye kupiga picha ako?"
Mwas Kagu:
"It's unfortunate that when an MP was killed, within two days suspects had been apprehended, a priest is killed, buried and nothing has been done, in the burial day, another one is killed.. is there double standard, may God have mercy on us."
Joanis Minor:
"This is absolutely wrong.Sooo sad. These are the people who win souls for a better people š hope the investigations will be done soon like in Where's case.RIP padre."

6 suspects linked to Allois murder arrested
In another story, police have arrested six suspects in connection with Father Allois's murder.
According to National Poloce Service NPS spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga, they deployed GSU officers to Kabartile Village shortly after the muder and killing apprehended the suspects.
The police also clarified that preliminary investigations had already ruled out banditry or cattle rustling as the main motive. They suggested that the attack on Father Bett was actually premeditated.
