Unknown perpetrators secretly dug up the grave of a man who had been buried over two decades ago, carrying out the act at night.

The vandalised grave belongs to Victor Masi, a man with albinism who was emotionally laid to rest more than 20 years ago.

What was stolen from Victor's grave?

They stole bones from one of his legs, and a neighbour recounted the events of the fateful night:

“The guards—our dogs—started barking loudly in my neighbor's compound where the incident took place. I wondered what the barking was about. I sensed something was wrong, so I got up from bed and stepped outside. I took my flashlight to investigate. The dogs stopped barking, so I assumed everything was fine and went back to sleep.

"The dogs started barking again and making noise just like before. I was too tired to go out again. The dogs barked continuously from around 11pm to 2am. I decided to let them handle whatever was happening, telling myself I would check in the morning,” the neighbor said.

He also noted that although there were several graves on the property, only Victor's had been tampered with.

“Victor died young. He was buried in this grave here, on land belonging to his father. As a government leader, I strongly condemn such acts. I call on the relevant authorities to investigate this matter and bring the perpetrators to justice,” he said.
