They said the area had witnessed increased insecurity in recent months.
According to the locals, within three months, at least three people have been killed under mysterious circumstances, but to date, no arrests have been made.
When the officers arrived to pick up the body, the locals charged towards them, and they had to run away for their safety.
Later, the locals staged a protest by blocking the Turbo-Soy Road, paralysing transport flow. They demanded immediate action to address the rising insecurity, failure to which they threatened to storm and ‘occupy’ the Seregeya police post.
Some of the locals who spoke to TUKO.co.ke on the sidelines of the protest also demanded the immediate transfer of police officers in the area. They accused them of laxity.
“We are facing a serious disaster in Likuyani. People are being killed in cold blood, yet the police are there. Their work is to take bodies and then lie to us that they are investigating. We are tired,” said John Sifuna, one of the locals.
“We call upon the Interior Ministry to move all officers from this area because we are not seeing their work. They are only busy when looking for chang'aa brewers, but when it comes to security matters, they are always reluctant to act,” he added.

They expressed concerns that despite the heinous murders, no single arrest has been made.
Some of the locals further claimed that individuals behind the wave of murders in the area are well known to the police.
They have now issued an ultimatum to the government to act, failure to which they threatened to take matters into their own hands.
Killed Kakamega night guard found near police station
Previously, TUKO.co.ke reported that residents of Lurambi sub-county had raised concerns over a wave of killings targeting night guards.
The concerns followed the discovery of the bodies of two night guards near a police station in separate incidents.
Locals accused the police of laxity even as Kakamega sub-county police commander, Vincent Cherutich, said they were probing the two cases.
