Achieng has been vocal in Nakuru county and on national platforms over women’s issues, human rights activism, and gender rights.
Addressing the media outside Afraha Nursing Home, Jacinta Atieno, her house help, said that two men forced Achieng into a white car outside their house in Flamingo Estate, Nakuru Town East Constituency, before speeding off.
She said that as she was relaxing inside the house, she heard commotion outside the gate, and when she rushed to check on her, she found the individuals pushing Achieng into the car.
"There were some who had come into the house and knocked on the door. I went outside, and I left them talking, and minutes later I heard commotion like there was an argument. When I went to check on them, I found her being forced into the car," she said.
How was Achieng rescued
Fellow human rights activists said that, according to the hospital that received her early in the morning, she appeared visibly shaken with bruises on her body.
Martin Lunalo, activist and Executive Director of Reproductive Health Champions Organisation, said that Achieng was heavily abused by her abductors.
"When she was taken by good Samaritans to the facility, she was unconscious and unable to get her senses right before regaining slowly," he said.
He said that Achieng had been proactive in ensuring that women are protected and has been following up on the disappearance of Brian Odhiambo.
Mwangi Muraya, another activist, expressed concern over the suffering activists are going through in fighting for social justice cases in the communities.

He said that the incident could be related to her quest to push for the rights of women and others seeking justice over violations of their rights.
Where is Achieng' recuperating after abduction
Muraya said that her comments during a meeting of the Technical Working Group to combat the rising cases of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and the Femicide Taskforce at the Red Cross in Nakuru could have some links to the abduction.
“On May 15, 2025, during the meeting, she stood firm and wanted the reopening of a case that involved a woman who was allegedly killed by an officer,” he said.
Maimuna Mwinyi, a social justice activist, said that the government at both levels should protect women activists to participate in activism without being subjected to such inhuman and degrading abductions.
Achieng is now recuperating at Afraha Nursing Home, where she was taken by good Samaritans after allegedly being dumped by the individuals.
Abducted Nairobi lady is found safe
In a separate incident, Consolata Achieng Otieno, 24, went missing after leaving Kayole Bee Centre for Kariobangi.
Her sister, Milly K'Otieno, reported that along the way, she was drugged and robbed.
The kidnappers used her phone to demand KSh 5,000 from her family, threatening harm if it was not paid.
After about an hour, her phone was switched off, increasing the family's distress.
A Good Samaritan recognised her from a viral missing persons post and contacted the family.
