Mosiria: Who is behind fake WhatsApp chats?

In the leaked chats, Mosiria is quoted as having instructed goons to take part in the protests and vandalise the litter bins because peaceful demonstrators could not destroy public property.
The chats also quote Governor Johnson Sakaja, saying he would send some M-Pesa cash to those who destroyed the dustbins as a way of appreciation.
However, speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Mosiria termed the leaked chats as fake, meant to tarnish the image of Sakaja's administration.
"Fake sponsored propaganda created by AI or graphic designers. Any group chats must start with +254. This screenshot making the rounds on social media has been created by enemies of progress. Kenyans need to be careful with such leaders," Mosiria said.
Mosiria pointed an accusing finger at Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, claiming he was behind the fake screenshots.
According to Mosiria, the Embakasi East lawmaker was using Ojwang's death to gain political mileage ahead of the 2027 Nairobi gubernatorial race.
He said the goons were even given the Dishi Na County watches to make it appear that they were hired by Sakaja's close associates.
"I want to expose politicians who want to take blogger Albert Omondi Ojwang's death for political mileage. There is a politician who wants to be the governor of Nairobi; he has created fake screenshots to malign our names. He has created them through AI.
"Please stop propaganda, be a good example and don't lead as a goon. We know what you did. We know how you mobilised the goons. You have caused damages in the millions to the people of Nairobi. What kind of leader are you?" he asked.

Geoffrey Mosiria condemns vandalism in the CBD
Earlier, Mosiria slammed the protesters who took advantage of the demonstrations to vandalise newly installed dustbins.
In a statement, the chief officer said it was sad for a section of Kenyans to hide behind the constitutional rights to demonstrate to destroy properties.
Mosiria wondered how Kenyans would have the courage to blame Sakaja's administration over the garbage menace in CBD when goons have destroyed the dustbins.
He said that as Kenyans exercise their constitutional right to demonstrate, they should not destroy properties meant to serve everyone.
