How many people died in Mwingi accident?

The fatal accident occurred in the Mwatungo area, Masinga sub-county, on Tuesday, June 3, at 4pm.

Preliminary reports show that a 14-seater matatu operated by KINATHI Sacco that was travelling from Matuu towards Mwingi overturned and rolled several times, killing five people on the spot.

Five people, including three men, a woman, and a child, died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment at Kithyoko Health Centre and Matuu Level 4 Hospital.

Those injured were rushed to various hospitals, including Kanyonyoo AP College Hospital, for urgent treatment.

Their bodies were taken to a mortuary in Mwingi, Kitui County, awaiting post-mortem.

Police in the area have already launched investigations to establish what caused the fatal accident.

How many people died in Molo accident?

The accident occurred just weeks after a tragic crash on the Njoro-Molo Road in Nakuru County, which claimed the lives of 12 people.

Citizen Digital reported that the fatal crash took place on Thursday, May 8, around 6 p.m. at Chebonde/Arimi, when a Nakuru K Service matatu collided head-on with a lorry.

County Police Commander Michael Mwaura confirmed that all 12 victims from the matatu, including six men and six women, died instantly at the scene.

Their bodies were transported to Molo Sub County Mortuary, while eight survivors were swiftly taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Elburgon MCA Njuguna Mwaura explained that the lorry, which was headed towards Molo, collided with the Nissan vehicle after it appeared to suffer a tyre burst and lost control.

John Mureithi, a passenger in the lorry, recalled that they were on their way to Molo when the Nissan rolled over and struck their vehicle.

What caused Matulo accident?

On other sad news, two police officers died in a horrific accident at Matulo along the Webuye-Malaba Highway.

Preliminary investigations indicated that a Ford Range police vehicle was overtaking when it collided with a trailer on Tuesday, June 3.

Regional Police Commander Issa Mohamud confirmed the tragic incident, revealing that the victims, including a police driver and a sergeant, died at the scene.

The police chief explained that the Ford Ranger police vehicle was on its way from Webuye to Bungoma, carrying one passenger who was a police sergeant.

The driver of the trailer reported experiencing pain due to the accident. The bodies of the victims were transferred to the mortuary for an autopsy and further investigation.

The trailer driver suffered severe injuries and was immediately taken to Bungoma County Referral Hospital (BCRH) for urgent medical attention.
