A disturbing video surfaced showing the MP, who was allegedly abducted outside a church in Kiambu on Sunday, May 25, in visible distress and writhing in pain.
When the lawmaker was found, he lay on the ground unconscious, in a navy blue suit, which appeared torn and dirty.
From the video seen by TUKO.co.ke, it appears the lawmaker was tortured and left for dead as he could barely speak.
Citizen TV reported that Koimburi, a close ally of former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, was rushed to Karen Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Kiambu senator Karungo wa Thang’wa said that individuals alleged to be security officers abducted the Juja lawmaker outside the Full Gospel Church in Mugutha.
Thang’wa added that plans to arrest the Juja lawmaker had allegedly been underway since last week.
The senator also stated that Koimburi’s wife was injured while trying to stop the armed men from taking her husband.
A video circulated online, capturing two men grabbing and forcibly bundling Koimburi into a waiting Subaru Forester before speeding off.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed they were searching for Koimburi over alleged land fraud but denied being behind his abduction.
How Kenyans reacted
Mr Izzla:
"So many questions; Who"found" him? If he was unconscious, how did they know where he was at."
KeeruH:
"So sad 😭. May God heal him wholly 🙏🏾"
Yussuf Omar Dakane:
"This is terrifying to see. If leaders are getting this, what about us? What are we to expect?"
@thee_alfa_house:
"Is this how to handle criticism? If the government is not involved, how do they explain daylight abduction of an elected MP by "unknown individuals"? No report from DCI since he went missing about how they're searching for the MP, leaving "no stone unturned." Are they aware of it or doesn't it concern them?"

How Koimburi escaped on a motorbike
Earlier, tension gripped Juja town as the whereabouts of MP Koimburi remained unknown.
The lawmaker reportedly disappeared on Friday, May 23, soon after overseeing a bursary distribution event at Gachororo Primary School.
Reports suggest that Koimburi was confronted by individuals believed to be security officers.
According to Citizen Digital, the MP escaped on a motorbike following a dramatic car chase involving his official vehicle.
His driver was reportedly held at gunpoint, taken to the DCI headquarters, and released later that same night.
Koimburi’s legal team and supporters have condemned the incident, describing it as unlawful and politically motivated.
Advocate Stephen Mbugua accused the police of breaching a court order that prohibited any attempts to arrest the MP.
The order, issued in February by Justice Abigail Mshila of the Kiambu High Court, came after forgery charges were filed against Koimburi at the Kiambu Law Courts.
The disturbing ordeal surrounding Juja MP George Koimburi’s alleged abduction has sparked deep concern about the state of security and political freedoms in Kenya.
Speaking exclusively to TUKO.co.ke, constitutional lawyer and governance expert Moses Kiprono explained that such incidents, if left unaddressed, erode public trust in institutions and signal a return to authoritarian-style crackdowns masked under legal pretexts.
“This kind of brazen abduction, especially if linked to state agents, sets a worrying trend. It sends a chilling message that even elected leaders are not safe from extrajudicial tactics. If impunity persists, it weakens the rule of law and leaves the public wondering who is really in control, the law or those who abuse power,” Kiprono told TUKO.co.ke.
He added that law enforcement must act transparently and accountably to restore confidence and avoid a spiral of fear and repression.
What did Gachagua say about Koimburi's abduction?
Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua alleged Koimburi was tortured before being dumped in a coffee plantation.
The Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader further alleged that the abductors administered a poisonous chemical that weakened the Juja lawmaker, making it impossible for him to talk.
Gachagua told the press that the MP could only write as the chemical had interfered with his vocal cords.
However, the former DP expressed confidence in the medics attending to Koimburi, saying they had given him assurance that they would do everything to get him back on his feet.
Other politicians who accompanied Gachagua to visit Koimburi at the Karen Hospital include DCP deputy party leader Cleophas Malala, and senators John Methu (Nyandarua) and Karungo wa Thangwa (Kiambu), among others.
Masolo Mabonga, HOD Current Affairs and Politics, updated this with details on what former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua said about MP Koimburi's abduction.
