Milly wa Doc: Doctors Disclose TikToker Died Due to Pregnancy-Related Complications

TikToker Milcah Nyatuga Murang'a, better known as Milly wa Doc, died on Wednesday, June 3.

She died at the Nakuru County Referral and Teaching Hospital, and her death left fans and family shattered.

A doctor at the hospital spoke about the cause of her death in an interview with NTV.

What is Milly wa Doc's cause of death?

The medical officer revealed that the TikToker's death stemmed from pregnancy.

"She was admitted here on May 26 at around 3:30 pm as a referral from a private hospital. The issue at that time was heavy bleeding and pain. And a pregnancy that was around 6 months.

She was fairly unstable when she came. So she was stabilised, transfused and then taken to theatre at around 5 pm. Well, the surgery essentially was to remove the pregnancy and of course, now stop the bleeding," the doctor said.

However, Milly's situation got worse after the surgery.

"While in the ward, that is when we noticed the kidneys were not working well. She also had features of sepsis. Dialysis was done. We tried to change the antibiotics. But unfortunately, we lost her on June 3," the doctor continued.

According to the doctor, Milly had been admitted to the same hospital before due to pregnancy-related issues and she left contrary to their advice.

"She had been admitted in early April due to the same issues of pregnancy, but she insisted on going home against medical advice. What happened between those two admissions, I don't know," the doctor said.

Milly's death was explained to have been caused by kidney failure.

Where will Milly wa Doc be buried?

As previously reported, the fallen TikToker’s family had appealed to Kenyans for support in covering her final expenses.

During a TikTok livestream, Milly's son, Brian, shared that the family was working with her friends and loved ones to plan the burial budget.

Her brother, Sleek, also weighed in, explaining that the budget was still tentative and asking for advice from the public.

The family has set an initial burial budget of KSh 2.5 million, which has surprised some Kenyans.

One of Milly's friends later clarified that part of the funds will also be used to purchase land for her children, where she will be buried.

These arrangements are still tentative, as they await the funds raised to finalise the details.
