The politician has welcomed a new member to his family, and she is a pretty granddaughter.

He took to social media to celebrate the arrival of the baby, named Nalia Anota Khalwale.

The senator congratulated his son, Tigana Khalwale, and his daughter-in-law.

"The Khalwale family is celebrating the gracious grand arrival of my granddaughter, Nalia Anota Khalwale. Congratulations, my little boy @TKhalwale and your dear wife," he wrote.

He also thanked the doctors at the Nairobi Hospital for their wonderful service.

"My sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Prof Wanjala and Dr Florence Murila of Nairobi Hospital for the excellent care u have given my family over all these years. Thanks be to God," Khalwale added.

He accompanied the post with a heartwarming photo of the newborn.
