"Sasa mnaniuliza nini? Mimi nyimbo nilitoa kitambo na tukalaunch 2015, mbona mnazifufua?" she wrote, addressing fans who were surprised by her little-known musical past.
In a surprising turn, Carol took control of the narrative and posted one of her own music videos, showcasing her singing a gospel song in praise of God.
She was dressed in a classic skirt suit and a red blouse. The video, clearly from nearly a decade ago, had the grainy quality typical of that era.
She captioned it with a powerful message:
"This one, I sang to myself. I have seen it all. It is you God, who sees even in secret. Fufueni zote basi. Lakini poverty aki uzuri suit nilianza kuvaa kitambo."
The 34-year-old went on to reflect on the setbacks she faced in her music journey, revealing how her career stalled shortly after launching the video.
She recalled investing part of her earnings into a Sacco, only to watch her savings disappear.
"After launch 2015 nikasema wacha nusu ya hiyo pesa nipeleke Goodlife Sacco. Wadau, hiyo Sacco iliporomoka kuliko ukuta za Jericho. Anyway, I have suffered," she wrote.
Karangu could not contain his amusement and jumped into the comment section, laughing heartily at the revelation.
Social media users were equally tickled and touched by Carol's honesty and talent, with many drawing comparisons between her and Karangu’s first wife, gospel singer Triza Njeri, whose music career is currently on the rise.
Fans joked that Karangu must have a soft spot for gospel singers himself being one.
