William Kabogo's Snap Turns into Meme as Kenyans Roast His Fashion Sense: “Enjoying It”

  • William Kabogo seems to appreciate the old-school type of fashion, but it seems many have higher expectations of how he should dress
  • The CS's photos showing him mixing and matching different colours have gone viral on social media, with many taking a dig at his style
  • However, the former governor seems totally okay with it, claiming he would be worried if it were any different

The Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, William Kabogo, has gone viral in the last few hours over his fashion sense.

But what started as ridicule over his dressing has now gone as far as aiming digs at his intellect as an ICT CS.

Kabogo dressing goes viral

It started with a photo of the CS that went viral - he was dressed in a white shirt, brown khaki pants, a red tie, striped brown and black socks and safari boots.

His style left many stunned; for a man with a great lifestyle and good English, netizens might have expected better.

The photo led to many questions about whether his old-fashioned style would also apply to how he views the new media and the Internet, questioning his ability to lead the country in a new space of digital growth and AI.

Kenyans made fun of the CS's ability to understand technology jargon. They also questioned his knowledge of the new terms referring to different concepts in ICT.

This also included videos of comedians or ordinary individuals offering hilarious reactions to questions on technology, alluding that the former governor would respond similarly.

Other photos of Kabogo were also shared, showing him in what many Gen Zs would consider old man's fashion, which they also used to attack him.

Kabogo, however, seems to have taken it lightly, claiming that he has been enjoying the banter, which is quite necessary.

Reacting to one of the snaps, wrote:

"I’m enjoying it, if no one makes such, you need to be very worried."

Here are some of the memes and comments shared online:

"Kabogo: "Ati mmesema mnatafuta crack? It just so happens I am a supplier".

@mwaipheterr said:

"This just remind me kabogo is among those people who paid us to update their WhatsApp and create Facebook accounts, so unfortunate, the age for ICT Cs should not exceed 40."

@Number1GenZ joked

"Kuna alert hapa imeniambia boost your BIOS. I think ametype haraka haraka mambo ya BIOGAS."

Kabogo meets man who WhatsApped him

In other news, TUKO.co.ke reported a few months back about Kabogo's meeting with a man who WhatsApped him.

The man, Kennedy Maina, boldly contacted the CS, which ended up in an instant appointment.

Maina took the initiative to reach out to the CS on issues affecting Kiambu county residents and the government's WiFi hotspots, which were not working.

He noted that despite the government installing them, they were not working, and only the lovely structures were left to be admired by the public.
