PSC Advertises 1,000 Vacancies for Internships Under Digital Literacy Programme

The Ministry of Education, through the State Department for Basic Education, has unveiled 1,000 internship vacancies under the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) – Cohort 4.

The programme is administered in partnership with the Public Service Commission (PSC), and it aims to equip recent graduates with practical skills while strengthening digital learning infrastructure in schools at the sub-county levels.

In an announcement published by the PSC, successful candidates will be deployed across the country to support virtual learning and related digital platforms in primary schools.

The interns are expected to play a vital role in promoting safe, secure, and effective integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into teaching, learning, and school administration.

Who can apply for PSC internships?

To qualify for the internship, applicants must have graduated no earlier than 2020 and possess either:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education with a specialisation in Information Communication Technology;
  • A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in ICT, or in ICT Integration in Education from a recognised institution.

Candidates are also expected to possess a solid understanding of networking and infrastructure, information security, application development, and project management.

They should be proficient in integrating ICT into education, with a particular focus on e-learning platforms and digital content development.

Moreover, applicants must be prepared to commit to full-time work in any Sub County Education Office throughout the country

PSC internship terms and how to apply

PSC noted that the internship will run for a non-renewable period of twelve months, during which successful candidates will receive a stipend provided by the Government of Kenya.

Upon completion of the programme, interns will be awarded a certificate by the State Department for Basic Education as official recognition of their participation.

Interested and eligible applicants are encouraged to submit their applications online through the Public Service Commission’s job portals no later than June 23, 2025.

The Public Service Commission emphasised that the recruitment process is based on merit and fairness.

Job vacancies at Kenyatta University

In other news, Kenyatta University announced a wide range of job openings across multiple departments, including teaching, health services, and security, with applications due by Friday, June 13, 2025.

The advertised positions span the Department of Construction and Real Estate Management, Fine Arts and Design, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology, and Clinical Radiology, among others.

Roles at the Northcoast Beach Hotel and the position of CEO at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH) are also available. Applicants are required to submit detailed academic and professional credentials along with referee contacts.
